Israel’s military spokesman said they’re gonna hit Gaza harder starting today, getting ready for the next part of the fight against Hamas. When some people asked if they were gonna go into Gaza, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said they’re making things ready first.

He said, “We will deepen our attacks to minimize the dangers to our forces in the next stages of the war. We are going to increase the attacks, from today.” Hagari also told people in Gaza City to move south to be safe.

But in Israel, lots of people are scared. They’re thinking about their loved ones or buddies who might be held by Hamas and could get hurt if there’s a big fight. The Israeli military thinks Hamas has about 200 people held.

Eli Cohen told people that bad guys took his niece, Inbar Haiman, during the Nova music party on Oct. 7. That’s where a lot of people, like 260, got hurt by Hamas.

He said, “All together four terrorists, they were kidnapping her into Gaza Strip.”

After hearing that a mom and her daughter from Illinois got freed on Friday, Cohen felt hopeful. He thinks it’s ’cause there’s talking happening through Qatar and Hamas realizes they need to let people go.

Someone asked President Biden on Friday night if Israel should wait on a big move until more people get free. The president said “yes.” But then, someone from the White House said maybe the president didn’t hear the question right. Some people from CBS News tried asking the White House about it, but nobody answered back.

On Saturday, trucks started bringing stuff into Gaza. This happened two weeks after there were big problems between Hamas and Israel.

A news place in Egypt called Al-Qahera said that only 20 trucks got into Gaza that day. Even though there were over 200 trucks waiting with a lot of aid. Those 20 trucks had 44,000 water bottles for kids, given by the United Nations. That’s like giving water to 22,000 people for one day.

But, people from the U.S. and other countries who got stuck in Gaza when all the fighting started couldn’t go to Egypt.

Sadly, a lot of people in Gaza have been hurt or passed away. The people who look after health in Palestine said on Saturday that 4,385 people died, including lots of kids and women. And 13,561 people got hurt. Most of the people who got hurt or died were kids, women, or old people, someone from the health place said.
