SEATTLE — Three people lost their lives, and six got hurt in a South Seattle shooting this past weekend.
Polices showed up at a hookah joint on Rainier Avenue South in the early hours, like 4:30 a.m., after people heard loud bangs.
Turns out, this wasn’t the first time shots rang out near this place.
“I am aware of an incident of shots fired, that occurred the night before outside the establishment but on that same block,” said police bigwig Adrian Diaz. “But I don’t know if it is related to the actual hookah lounge.”
Once the police got to the scene, they found two men, 22 and 32, who didn’t make it. A 30-year-old lady was rushed to Harborview but sadly passed away in the ICU. Another 22-year-old was taken to the same hospital after getting shot.
The ones who lost their lives were named Jonathan Bishu, Trevis Bellard, and Nadia Kassa. They were all shot multiple times. Right now, it’s being looked at as murder.
While all this was happening, more hurt people started showing up at different hospitals. Three men, aged 38, 21, and 25, got themselves to Harborview after the shooting. Another guy, 23, went to Virginia Mason first and then was moved to Harborview in bad shape.
Polices found five guns where it all happened. They’re noticing more guns in recent shootouts.
“I The growing concern is how many guns are being fired in these cases.” Diaz said “People pulling out and having a disregard for life, we have the Capitol Hill case, the Rainer Beach Safeway incident, and now we have this.”
Still, polices think this was a one-time thing and people nearby should be safe.
