On August 25, the ‘Mask Girl’ crew from Netflix got together to spill the tea on the show. Cast members Go Hyun Jung, Ahn Jae Hong, Yeom Hye Ran, Nana, and Lee Han Byul joined the director, Kim Yong Hoon, to chat about what went down behind the scenes.
During the gabfest, the director let slip that a choreographer from YG Entertainment whipped up all the dance moves. “The choreography director was from YG and she was extraordinary. She trained in a way like a Spartan. I watched from the side,” he said. Lee Han Byul chimed in, “She trained me like an idol trainee.”
Kim Yong Hoon gave a shoutout to the actors, saying, “All the actors worked really hard on the dance scenes.” He then asked Lee Han Byul which dance routine nearly did her in. She answered, “All the choreographies were difficult in their own unique way…I think still, ‘Dancing to the Rhythm’ was something I thought I could practice and do but dancing sexy is impossibly difficult.”
As for the show itself, ‘Mask Girl’ is all about an everyday office gal who moonlights as a masked streamer ’cause she’s self-conscious about her looks. The plot thickens when a work buddy stumbles upon her secret life.
