Lost dog looks at every house, hoping to see his family again.

Just the other week, folks in Southern California were getting ready for a big hurricane – a real history-maker. But in the midst of all that hustle, there was one sad dog with no place to call home. He wandered through a Los Angeles neighborhood, peeking into every yard, kind of hoping he’d find his people who had left him behind.

People in the neighborhood saw this big, white dog moping around, but they weren’t sure what to do to help him out. That’s when they dialed up Suzette Hall, who’s the big boss at Logan’s Legacy dog rescue.

“The neighbors were all feeding him, but no one wanted to let him in because he had so many ticks,” Hall shared “ he poor baby just waited.”

Even if the neighbors had thrown their doors wide open for the pup, Hall ain’t too sure he’d have stepped in. He had his mind set on finding his own folks, dead set on it, and he wouldn’t budge from the street till he did.

“He would look under people’s gates as if to say, ‘Are you my home?'” Hall spilled. ” He just wanted to find his family.”

As the storm clouds gathered up above, Hall didn’t waste any time – she zipped over to the Orange County ‘hood like a lightning bolt. When she rolled up to where the dog was posted up, he perked up, throwing her a look that was all hope.

For a second, he thought his family had finally shown up for him. But it hit him quick that Hall was there for a rescue operation, which left him feeling all sorts of mixed up.

“It was like he knew a rescuer was there,” Hall explained. ” But he was a little hesitant because he thought they would come back. I think he thought that if he left with me, he would never see that family again.”

Hall knew the poor pup – who she later dubbed Scooby – was shattered, but she wasn’t about to just walk away.

So, she plunked herself down by his side, chatting him up soft and steady until he eased up.

“We had a long talk,” Hall said. “I told him that his family wasn’t coming back but that he was safe with me.”

After a spell, Hall looped a leash around Scooby’s neck and led him to her van. Finally, after days of being on high alert, Scooby could just let go – and he sure knew how to revel in it.

“He instantly fell asleep once I got him in my van,” Hall chuckled. “He’s so, so sweet. Such a cuddlebug.”

Hall took a beeline to Camino Pet Hospital, where a bunch of caring souls tended to Scooby’s woes. In no time, this loyal dude was feeling as fit as a fiddle.

“He literally just wiggles his tail now, rolls over and wants belly rubs,” Hall grinned.

As of now, Scooby’s kicking it at the pet hospital while he keeps an eye out for a home he can call his own. Hall’s hoping this tender-hearted pup lands his happily-ever-after, and quick.

“We are desperately looking for the forever family that he deserves,” Hall said. “He’ll never be abandoned ever again.”
