There’s nothing that hurts more than losing your loved ones. Believe it or not, a broken heart aches more than a bruised knee.
And this isn’t only a human thing – critters feel it too. When the blues hit, it’s tough to see any light at the end of the tunnel. But with caring folks around you, there’s always a glimmer of hope, just like in Daisy’s tale.
Daisy was a lively pooch who shared a barn with her human, Jessica Woodruff, and a bunch of other friendly creatures.
She’d just become a mom to seven adorable puppies and was loving every bit of it. But then, disaster struck. The barn they called home caught fire because of a faulty heat lamp.
Luckily, Daisy wasn’t home when the fire started, but her little ones, four goats, and a pig weren’t as fortunate.
Daisy tried to dash into the flames to save her babies, but Jessica held her back as the fire consumed the barn at an alarming pace.
In no time, the fire reduced the barn to cinders, taking with it Daisy and Jessica’s joy. Daisy was the most affected, wandering around the charred remains and crying for her pups. Seeing Daisy’s despair tore Jessica apart. She had to act fast, or she’d lose Daisy to grief.
In the nick of time, Jessica’s sister found a post on Facebook about some orphan puppies needing a home.
They connected with Lorna Murphy who had eight puppies left motherless when her dog Chloe passed away after giving birth.
Without wasting any time, Jessica set up a meeting for Daisy and the orphaned puppies. The instant Daisy laid eyes on them, she took them in as her own and started nurturing them.
For weeks, Daisy looked after the orphaned puppies until they could stand on their own four paws. They all had their hearts shattered by loss, but together, they found healing.
Their story shows us that no matter how fierce the storm, the sun will always break through and shine
