“The incident has been documented on a police report and no arrest or citations have been issued,” the police shared in a statement.
The Washington Post reports it’s still up in the air whether charges will be filed.
Cardi B, aged 30, was on stage at Drai’s Beachclub in Vegas on Saturday afternoon when a fan chucked a drink at her, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. An online video shows Cardi B singing her 2017 hit “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” when she got doused. She appeared taken aback, then angry, and she flung her mic into the crowd while seeming to shout at them, per Billboard.
Variety noted it’s unclear if the drink thrower and the mic-hit reporter are the same person.
Social media videos show a woman, who allegedly threw the drink, apologizing to Cardi B, Variety added.
Further videos show the fan getting escorted out by security, per the entertainment news site. Later posts revealed the show went on, featuring Cardi B running around the stage in a bright orange jumpsuit, according to the Review-Journal.
As of Monday, no one’s been arrested or ticketed, NBC News stated.
Media outlets have yet to hear back from Cardi B’s reps.
This incident is another in a string of similar episodes where concert performers have been pelted by objects from the crowd, as CNN reported.
On July 8, Harry Styles was hit in the face at his “Love on Tour” concert in Vienna, Austria, reported by Rolling Stone. The singer winced after the object seemingly hit his eye.
On June 18, Bebe Rexha had to get stitches after a cell phone thrown by a fan hit her head during a NYC concert, also reported by Rolling Stone.
In a following L.A. show, Ava Max got slapped by a fan who stormed the stage, according to the magazine. Earlier this month at Hyde Park in London, Pink apparently had a fan’s mother’s ashes thrown at her, and days later, Kelsea Ballerini was struck in the eye by a bracelet, per Rolling Stone. Drake has also been hit by an object.
